wow, I'm proud of Kiko, I'm so glad he has accepting parents 💝💝💝

Evie Henry on June 15, 2021 at 11:34 pm

these take forever to lead for me, anyone else have that problem?

Melissa AB Graetz on June 15, 2021 at 9:28 pm

Syracuse!! Bisexual Mythical beast born and raised in 'cuse (44, Go orange!) here! Although I'm in Denver now by way of DC!
Thanks for sharing your stories. It was, and still is, difficult for me engage on this topic as I've always felt like I don't belong, or that I am the outsider. This Pride I've decided to take a more active role in the LGBTQ+ community. I accept and support others - why wouldn't they accept me, too?

Judy Turner on June 15, 2021 at 2:16 pm

You guys are so amazing. Thank you for putting yourselves out there for your audience to identify with. 🌈❤️🌈❤️

Jennifer Bernd on June 14, 2021 at 3:36 pm

I love you all so much! I wish I had friends like you. :)

Katy Yellen on June 14, 2021 at 10:06 pm

oh gosh, don't read the comments about this post on YouTube, they're unbelievably toxic. Thank you for doing this episode. It was emotional, educational, inspiring, and humorous!

R.S. Rutherford on June 13, 2021 at 6:49 pm

As a closeted gay man this was more emotional for me than I imagined. Who's cutting stupid onions in here? Ugh.

Kit Auner on June 13, 2021 at 10:03 am

Thanks for sharing, Kiko! It was great to hear from another trans guy.

James Wimmer on June 13, 2021 at 2:40 am

Thoroughly enjoyed watching this.

This may have already been said in here, but I did want to say that thanks to the Supreme Court, and Justice Gorsuch (a Trump appointed justice no less), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act now extends employee protections to the LGBTQ+ community.

If you're interested in reading up on that, see Bostock v. Clayton County.

Sam Schindler on June 13, 2021 at 1:43 am

I'm the one who asked the voice-mail question!! I just wanted to say thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and consideration, and especially to Kiko who added more to his answer. When I heard my own voice I freaked!! I can't believe my question was featured! Thank you guys so much. It made my day, and made me feel very special. I love being a part of this community and always will. xoxo ♡

Travis Swartzendruber on June 12, 2021 at 7:59 am

Would someone elaborate on what Rhett and Link did that made Kiko feel safe to come out? I’ve watched GMM and listened to Ear Biscuits over the past two years, but I’m somewhat knew to the channel and want to learn as much as possible! :) this video was great! very interesting to hear everyone’s side. It’s awesome Rhett and Link provide such a great opportunity for everyone to succeed!

PS-Stevie, you have been my favorite since joining the fan base. ❤️

Kiko Suura on June 14, 2021 at 9:54 am

It's kind of both what Audra and Allison said! Seeing them become increasingly vulnerable on Ear Biscuits throughout my time with them on the podcast definitely started changing my perspective on how I viewed vulnerability, but their religious deconstruction stories were the specific episodes that really had the most impact on me. They made me realize that no matter who we are, at the end of the day, we just want to live our lives authentically and be accepted for who we truly are. They also made me realize it's ok to be scared to be vulnerable, but how overcoming that fear and living openly and authentically can have a huge positive impact both for yourself but also for others too. Hope this answers your question!

Audra Sparks on June 12, 2021 at 9:50 pm

My guess it's their religious deconstruction stories episodes

Allison Young on June 12, 2021 at 11:43 am

I know Kiko had shared in a comment on Instagram to Link that the fact they have been open and vulnerable in EBs really inspired him.

Ashley Steuer on June 12, 2021 at 2:14 pm

wonderful job, you guys! ❤️

Thomas Harper on June 12, 2021 at 7:04 am

I'm a heterosexual male, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I would like to offer my experience as a testimony for how things are getting better in terms of LGBT acceptance.

I'm an older millennial (born in 1985) and I remember in high school (in a conservative West Michigan city) in the late 90's and early 00's that using homophobic slurs as insults was so common to have almost lost all meaning. As a dumb teenager, I engaged in it myself. I also remember when some kids at my high school made a gay-straight alliance club, I heard some of the other kids joking about how they had gone to the meeting to make fun of the gay people there. Thankfully I hadn't been that much of a jerk, but I remember that I wasn't repulsed by the bullying those kids were bragging about the way someone ought to be.

Fast forward to now, I still live in the same conservative city (though it does have a bit of a libertarian bent, so not necessarily as socially conservative as some places in the country), but using homophobic slurs is almost unheard of (and when they are, it's usually done ironically). All the schools in the city, even some of the churches, fly the gay pride flag. I, myself, have made friends with gay and trans people (something I would not have done 20 years ago while in high school).

Anyway, my hope with sharing all this is so that people can be optimistic about the progress the country has made in LGBT acceptance even within just the last two decades.

Emilia Palo on June 11, 2021 at 11:48 pm

Katy Ferrell on June 12, 2021 at 1:32 am

I want to hug each of you. I have a very good good family friend, her name is the same as my biological sister, to the point that I introduce her as my other sister.
When she came out about 15 or so years ago, she was so scared to tell us. When she finally did, we were all like, "Oh, OK." didn't change how we feel about her.
My husband's Aunt's have been together for 50 years, when same-sex marriage became legal and they were able to marry, eye cried because I was so very happy for them.
I don't understand why anyone should be made to feel ashamed of who they are. I'm glad you all know that you are free to be who you are. Just one more reason to be proud to be a Mythical Beast.

Lindsey Hoert on June 11, 2021 at 11:26 pm

I don't believe in that? lol. saying it like you were talking about Bigfoot. I don't believe in that. it was a weird reaction.

Leena Pentti on June 11, 2021 at 9:49 pm

This was a super awesome episode for Pride month, especially, but I wouldn't mind more of these with lgbtq+ themes, if you want to.

Also, Happy Pride!

Anna Baldwin on June 11, 2021 at 2:32 pm

Love this so much <3 I'm bi/ace and to continue to see Mythical so accepting and diverse makes me so happy. Love you all and am proud of you!!!

Ellie Parker on June 11, 2021 at 2:30 pm

This was honestly so wholesome and lovely to see how positive of a work environment there truly is at Mythical :))

Angelina Peebles on June 11, 2021 at 12:39 pm

I was super sheltered as a kid, and I think Stevie was the first time I was ever exposed to a girl liking girls. It helped me figure out my own identity. Super happy that Mythical is a company that is so proud and loves one another. Thank you everyone :)

Erroll Abrahamian on June 11, 2021 at 11:39 am
