Do We Watch Our Own Show? (Carpool Vlog)

Speaking for myself, I love observing human behavior. I enjoy seeing you guys in your various creative elements showing your versatility as entertainers, but I also love just watching you guys be and go through your typical motions. Honestly, you could not say a single thing during the whole car ride, and I would find something fascinating about you both. I apologize if that sounds weird, but it means I'll always excitedly look forward to any new thing you do. I'm open as long as it's with you guys.

On the question of Road trip snacks I have to give my vote/opinion to "Pretzel Pillows". They aren't called that but it's peanut butter filled pretzel bites that look like pillows. If anyone hasn't tried them (including Rhett and Link) try them. Hands down my favorite snack for any occasion especially if you make sure to have some beverages as Link mentioned.

Kat B on August 7, 2021 at 8:18 am

I think that they had them on hmm for a snack knockoff

Kat B on August 7, 2021 at 8:19 am

Lmao gmm

Christie Bruno on December 24, 2020 at 6:39 am

YES! Those are delicious and the perfect road trip snack. I was trying to figure out what mine was but I didn't think about peanut butter filled pretzels!

David Hudson on December 24, 2020 at 7:20 am

From now on call them Pretzel Pillows, lol. I'm trying to make it catch on. Thanks.

I love all the content you put out, and have really enjoyed getting to know you on those various levels. The Instagram sketches are hilarious. I wish they could all be collected in one place, like with the older sketches on the R&L YouTube channel or even here. I first started watching GMM in March in quarantine and now I must watch everything you've done! Thank you for posting these personal vlogs, and everything else.

Eric Sabbagh on October 3, 2021 at 5:14 pm

it seems they went and did that with Mythical Bits

Stevie Swink on December 17, 2020 at 8:18 am

Lol Kramer definitely did end up making the coffee table book about coffee tables and the book even had legs so it turned into a coffee table 😂 you've gotta go back and watch it! Also Rhett I have a Tesla too and I'm pretty sure that ding you heard was an indicator that the traffic light had turned green. It does it when you're the front car.

I am SO confused about the Link timeline here. I watched the new episode this morning: no beard. Carpool vlog: no beard. Email message: MASSIVE BEARD!

It’s been neat getting to “know” you guys over the course of my almost-year-and-a-half span of being practically addicted to your content (I’ve watched pretty much everything you’ve put out, with a few exceptions, largely for my forgetfulness, heh). As much as I love GMM (and believe me, I do love it), I’ve almost come to enjoy the Mores even more because of how laid back they are. You’re not quite “as on” as you are in GMM and it’s neat to get as many glimpses of your true selves as we can. It’s intriguing to see if anybody can *really* be as likable as y’all seem to be—because we do like you. A lot! Genuineness, “warts and all”, is definitely part of the appeal, and the more we get to see that, the more we like it...and the more we love you for it. 🙂🖤

I have very fond memories of snacks while on the road. Never did roadtrips with the parents, we just always drove to our holiday destination. But man, my mom would go out of her way with snacks and cooldrinks. It was always a huge suprise and treat what she got for us every time.

Once read on social media that when you go on a roadtrip, snacks should look you gave a child $100 and left him unsupervised in a candy shop 😂

I love getting to know you guys on a deeper level. I’ve been a Mythical Beast for years now, listening to ear biscuits and watching all the episodes. In October I was finally able to join this society and I’ve only had good experiences. As I see the content, I feel like I can relate to both of you so much. I’m a 30 yr old mom of 2 kiddos. Getting to know you behind the scenes does alter the way I view your comedic bits, but in a good way. I love people being genuine. After all these years, I honestly feel like I know you both better than I know some of my own family members. lol . . The more I get to know of you guys, and your minds/hearts. . . I’m just all the more proud to be in this society, supporting Mythical. They say you should never meet your heroes . . . But I’m sure you guys would be the same and I’m not at all disappointed by that. <3

I love all of your content! I started with GMM and the rest all came as a happy surprise. I really enjoy the more intimate content you guys put out, and I don't think it takes away from the GMM experience at all! It does change the way I perceive things on the show but the enjoyment level is the same. Thank you for what you and the crew do 😊

Lauren Bynum on December 16, 2020 at 9:43 am

I love everything you guys put out for both GMM and for the Society. The vlogs and the react videos are my favorites from the society because (like you mentioned in this vlog) I get to see the more laid back sides of you guys. All of you work hard everyday to make your audience happy, and words can't express how grateful I am for that. Having yall as part of my daily routine has helped get through a lot of tough times, and now with the Society I have more content than ever to get me through each day. So thank you guys and the whole crew too for all you do!!!!

Heather (Lady Cynthiana) on December 16, 2020 at 4:46 pm

All I know is that your sketches, Ear Biscuits, and vlogs (these and the main channel ones while they were going) are some of my favorite content. The only thing that gets any better is when you're making music :) I love the daily routine of GMM, but the sketches and vlogs are highlights of the week. So getting to know you better must make the scripted content more enjoyable to me, or at least not less enjoyable. I definitely loled at the latest one where you were having a complaint competition! My husband and I go back and forth about who got less sleep last night, etc. I wonder if you can bring some of that sketch humor back to YouTube at some point. It reminds me of when you'd pack Thursday GMM episodes with sketches and experimental content. Some of my favorite GMMs back in the day were those. Of course, I thought you might be stretching yourselves too far to have like 3 or 4 different segments in an episode, and I guess I was right that it wasn't sustainable that way. Whatever gets you making content that you find enjoyable and/or creatively expressive (hopefully both!)

Joanne Scott on December 16, 2020 at 4:09 am

The carpool vlogs are my favourite part of the MS.

The more you watch content, the more you get out of it.

Thank you for doing these.

Alexandra West on December 16, 2020 at 7:37 am

I love the car pool (not a real pool) vlogs. Also knowing you guys better makes me enjoy the skits even more. Keep up the great work. It’s really appreciated.
(If you guys feel like it please please please make more vlogs. They were absolutely amazing!)

Helen Kate Horsler on December 15, 2020 at 10:45 pm

I fins my enjoyment of EB and the deep conversations you have in that format doesn't impact on me belly laughing at Link turning in to a human pez dispenser in a sketch

Abigayle Cosenze on December 16, 2020 at 6:12 am

wow they answered two whole questions!

Abigayle Cosenze on December 16, 2020 at 6:13 am

maybe that was a little passive aggressive but a lot of people put time into asking them stuff and these blogs are shorter than a gmm episode that's free...idk.

Wolf on December 15, 2020 at 9:50 pm

Link, to answer your question at the start. I think you ultimately came to the conclusion I would probably tell you. For me personally I feel like I’ve only gained so much more then ever before since getting these more personal conversations and looks at you guys. I enjoy your sketches as actual sketches and I fully can immerse myself in the characters you’re portraying, but I also feel almost like I just see a couple of good friends making fun sketches and succeeding at life. And that’s priceless to me.

Also I’ve been on a few road trips all to see you guys live and what I’ve learned is I don’t like road trip snacks. I literally never eat them then am left with a bunch of candy and snacks that I have no interest in lol. I mean I don’t snack that much normally so I don’t know why I feel I would for road trips. I’ve never thought of the dried fruit thing though. Maybe it’s good that I don’t like dried fruit lol

Also, I know it sounds weird but I feel you really must try to watch your own work for entertainment and try to not look with such critical eyes. Why? Because so often you’ll blind yourself with “making it better” you loose sight of what we as fans love (As example. So often in the react videos you will say you’d change this or that. And as a creator that’s valid. But as a fan? Those changes often would take away from what caught our hearts to begin with. They might make it better on paper but a perfect paper isn’t why we love it) Just try to yourself in the mindset of a dedicated fan. It’s important to improve and chase perfection, but perfection is fleeting and sometimes it’s important to really get a feel for the what and why that your fans see. You’re at your best when you’re the most laid back.

Oh and that joke at the end cracked me up. Let us know which child passes the test 😂

Justin Oakes on December 15, 2020 at 7:58 pm

I love that if they made that joke at the end on the show people would be up in arms haha

Kristina Glasgow on December 15, 2020 at 6:07 pm

I think watching your own work would be better if it was many years back and you had forgotten it. You can rewatch with a sense of detachment. Something too new will have you picking it apart more. Then again... y'all really went after poor Seaborne and Roach....

MaryJo Magee on December 15, 2020 at 6:48 pm

As a daily 5am GMM&GMMore watcher, its is energetic and fun way to start each morning.
I listen to EB each Monday ( and watch EB later in the week) and enjoy the more personal and closest to an 'authentic' conversation btw Rhett and Link. The sketches and videos on IG and Tic Toc are definitively funny and a category of their own.
Link is right, we GAIN more then we 'lose' when as Mythical Beasts we understanding that are various facets of your personalities and presentation based on the media venue and targeted audience.

Also Nick, great job on the post editing and sub titles !

Kristina Glasgow on December 15, 2020 at 6:06 pm

I love these. So much.

Sofia Solferino on December 15, 2020 at 5:44 pm

I completely understand where Link is coming from with that thought at the beginning. There is definitely a difference for me personally in that I know you guys more than I did 6 years ago and nowadays I watch sketches and acted stuff with a special eye, the way I would watch my friends act in something. Don't really know how to explain it but there is a difference, no doubt. I won't claim to know you guys as well as I know my family (though I love you as if you were), but listening to EB really helped meeting with the most laid back and personal side of you. That kinda becomes the main connection and every other content is like "ah, that's my pal Link/Rhett acting! That's fun!". Doesn't make it necessarily worse, but there's a sense of consciousness, in a way.

TL;DR: Yeah, I understand, Link (?)

Sofia Solferino on December 15, 2020 at 5:49 pm

Also, Nick, you're already working hard but I wouldn't mind seeing that minute-long opening with, what was it? *goes back* ah, right, "different shots of them in the car". I'm willing to edit it for free if you want and you can claim the rights to it (?)
