It feels like whenever I pack, I put 60 things on the floor to pack for later, remove 40 for being non-essential, and add 30 different things back. I want to think I was getting better at bringing only what I need but then I had kids. All over again I need 10 socks for 3 days.

I totally overpack and seeing it like this made me feel like at least I'm not alone. Nervous packing is totally a thing!
That said on our last camping trip I took 4 sleeping bags and my daughter thought I was  crazy (a 2 of us for 2 nights) then she spoilt her whole bottle of water over us accidentally during night one and we were able to hang them out and use spare sleeping bags and finish that night dry!
