Awww Emily! You made me tear up. Cheers from a fellow lady with ADHD. Thanks for sharing and being open <3

I love hearing about how the mythical crew got started at Good mythical morning.

Leonello Flavin on August 8, 2021 at 4:46 pm

I just joined the initiate tier of the mythical society last night, so I could watch some videos this weekend during the exclusive content opening or whatever it's called. Emily, As soon as I found this video I knew I had to watch it, and I'm really glad I did. I grew up with undiagnosed ADHD (which I just got diagnosed a few months ago) and Good Mythical Morning was one of my biggest hyperfixations when I was a kid. I started watching the channel when I was about 9. Hearing your experiences at Mythical as a person with ADHD makes me even more proud to be a mythical beast. Thank you so much for sharing those experiences, I really related to them.

This ep was amazing, very thoughtful and interesting! Did not know I could love Emily even more, love the on screen appearances, hope we can have more in the future!

Todd Donsang on April 21, 2021 at 10:48 am

As an professional ADHD coach it is awesome to hear how Emily advocated for herself in the workplace and in college. It is so challenging to teach people that skill when low self confidence is such a universal challenge for people with ADHD. I just wanted to add that for women and girls who are seeking a diagnosis it is a good idea to find a well trained diagnostician that specializes in diagnosing and treating ADHD in women. A great scientifically accurate resource for learning about ADHD is Chadd and additude. How to ADHD is also a great YouTube channel to learn more about ADHD.

Emily Fleming on April 22, 2021 at 9:51 pm

This comment really means a lot to me. It's been a long road (it ain't over yet) to understanding how to advocate for myself and I hope to help others do the same along the way. Yes, the How To Adhd channel is a huge asset on youtube to understanding the experience and I watch her regularly. Thank you so much for your comment and for your service to the ADHD community.

Oh Emily, I am sitting in my office weeping as I listen to you talk about ADHD. It is so hard to be a woman and have ADHD and because for many years they kept telling us that boys/men were the only ones who had to deal with it. I was diagnosed at 35 after many, many years of thinking I was stupid, lazy, and useless. It took a former boss of mine to send me to someone for testing because I was so disorganized. I will forever be grateful to her because I finally had validation that I am not stupid, lazy or useless. I went through a big depression as well, as I wondered how my life would have turned out had I been diagnosed and medicated sooner.

Things aren't perfect, but I am so thankful for women like you who aren't afraid to talk about neurodivergence. I wish more of us were able to find A typical workplaces (like Mythical) who nurture our nuttiness and let us shine in the ways that we can. I am so glad you found your place with them.

Emily Fleming on April 22, 2021 at 9:56 pm

I'm so thrilled that you got your diagnosis even if it took a bit to get there, and that you had a former boss who helped push you in that direction. I had a similar journey so I can relate. You're right that the diagnosis doesn't just fix everything. It's a process but knowing really helps. I highly suggest checking out the How To ADHD Youtube channel as it helped me a lot. Keep fightin the good wonky fight! You got this!

I love Emily. I always do random accents or I pick them up super easy. I don't mean offense when I do it but I still feel bad.

Cierra Th. on April 14, 2021 at 1:54 am

ahh I love Emily! I watched a compilation someone did of her at Mythical and she is downright hilarious. I can't wait to come back and watch this

Lillian Carilo on April 12, 2021 at 12:40 pm

I love Emily! I was a rabid fan of @midnight; watched every night. Hashtag wars was so much fun and I had the honor of having one of my contributions featured on one of the earlier episodes. SO fun! Just learned Chase is from Los Angeles too... good people, that guy. Great episode.

Erica is Lost in the Music on April 12, 2021 at 10:39 am

I loved this month’s episode. Emily is one of my very favorite people at Mythical. Hearing her be so candid (and relatable!) was wonderful. Thank y’all! 🥰

Desirea Lyn on April 12, 2021 at 2:14 pm

I never noticed Emily's accent before. it's super charming. For the one video a day format for GMM, I think it's more quality over quantity. I feel like I could tell it was really hard to create that much content and kinda stole some magic from the show.

Also, don't listen to the comments. Your characters are great, Chase. 😊

Another great episode! Emily always brings such a fun energy to all of the videos she's in. I really enjoyed how honest this conversation was, and it was really nice to get to know her a little more. So much love for the Mythical crew :)

Susie Scott on April 10, 2021 at 8:37 pm

Really loving this podcast :) Thanks Emily for what you said about imposter syndrome, especially "everyone in this room is here because they want you to be here." Hearing something like that, even when I know it in my heart, is so reassuring for my brain. It's so easy to get caught in negativity and convincing yourself otherwise.

Amy Petrica on April 10, 2021 at 8:22 pm

Enjoyed this a lot. Nice knowing Emily's background and how she ended up at Mythical.

Kathryn M Libbey on April 10, 2021 at 11:21 am

Yeah, we need to see Emily more often. She's hilarious.

Melanie Webb on April 10, 2021 at 9:42 am

I did not know it was possible to love Emily even more, but I stand corrected. You are absolutely amazing and thoroughly genuine person and you somehow feel really relatable to me. (Should I see a therapist?) Such a lovely episode this one, thank you Chase!
