Look Out For A New Look (Sneak Peek)

February 16, 2022

Beverley Smith on March 2, 2022 at 12:34 pm

I take it back Rhett Mythical isn't corporate and the logo is FABULOUS!! 😘 πŸ˜„

Meena Zahra on February 28, 2022 at 1:05 pm

my only criticism is that the taller side of the M should be on the right.....and picture frames and hoodie strings do NOT drive me insane

Stephen on February 26, 2022 at 7:46 am

The logo looks great. I especially appreciate the fact that (I think) the M being shaped like that represents the snake as part of the older logo. Modern and classy looking logo.

K Solo on February 25, 2022 at 7:15 pm

As a Mythical Beast I of course found myself randomly pondering the new Mythical logo & I gotta say I like it..

When I look at the curves of the M, I see the ups and downs of life. The second arch is up just a bit higher than the first on the M I interpret as the future being bright for Mythical, R&L and us little Beasties.

Stay curious.

GiGi H on February 23, 2022 at 8:36 pm

Maybe I'm wrong but I saw it as a business logo and not so much a R&L logo and I totally get why if so. They will still have Rhett and Link merch and stuff for MB but the company isn't just about them.. The previous logo doesn't fit with Mythical Kitchen or any of their other things going on. They're not going to be on YouTube forever, but they'll still have this business. It's sad that I'm seeing this transition because that just makes it more of a reality that one day I won't have them to look forward to every morning... but I can't wait to see all things Mythical in the future and see all the brilliant, funny things yall come up with.

Rachel Szczesny on February 23, 2022 at 11:21 pm

I wasnt sure at first seeing this how I felt about it, I understand the idea and need behind it but I have decided after today's mythical more with Link getting into describing the new merch, the font, of course the ramp and Chase modeling said new merch I LIKE THE NEW LOGO! it can easily be incorporated into merch designs and they can have a new minimalist line. Congrats on the change team Mythical!!

Anna Barber on February 23, 2022 at 10:00 am

I love the new logo! I understand the frustration others are having behind the change because change can be hard especially when everything in the world has been in a whirlwind. And I think sometimes people forget that you guys are people, not just pixels on a screen. Anyway, congrats on the change and don't feel obliged to make everyone happy!

Jodi Pena on February 23, 2022 at 3:51 am

love the new logo ! Rhett and Link are allowed to evolve and grow! Just like they encourage all of us to be our mythical best we should encourage them! way to go archery and Link !

Jodi Pena on February 22, 2022 at 7:53 pm

** Rhett and Link (iPhone mishap)

Elizabeth S Shogren on February 22, 2022 at 9:34 am

I am apparently the only one who likes it! I think it's neat that you don't immediately know what it is! And it's a little funky

Nicole Reeves on February 22, 2022 at 1:10 pm

I don't mind it either. I like that it's simple and works on anything they wanna put it on. I could see them doing something cool with it in the future.

Laura Tessier on February 22, 2022 at 1:23 pm

I don't like this at all, I love the old logo. Looks like a public bike rack... Why not test the logo here and get MB reactions before wasting a ton of money to change it and put it on merch that your fans won't end up buying?

Ryan Mills on February 25, 2022 at 3:24 pm

Totally agree, don't like it.

Morgan Wolfe on February 22, 2022 at 8:16 am

Respectfully I think this new logo is pretty ugly and isn't very fun or Mythical :(

Nicolas Latanzi on February 21, 2022 at 5:23 pm

To be honest, I really loved the previous logo, and this new one is quite bad. I don't mean to be disrespectful because I'm sure you put some hard work into this big change, but the design just doesn't seem nice, I certainly wouldn't want to have a hoodie or a t-shirt with that logo. But hey, that's just my two cents. Will keep getting some other stuff from the store whenever I can tho :)

Adam Bain on February 21, 2022 at 9:22 pm

looks dumb

Michelle Weaver on February 21, 2022 at 7:35 pm

I like the new design 😁

Danielle Davidson on February 21, 2022 at 7:34 pm

I would have liked to see the taller side of the M on the left. just as a little nod to those who know

Traci Wells on February 22, 2022 at 4:30 pm

Yup. That was my first thought.

Hollie Miley on February 22, 2022 at 4:17 pm

I thought the same exact thing right when I saw it..funny.

Maria Attree on February 21, 2022 at 8:48 pm

I thought the same.

Alice Roelke on February 21, 2022 at 10:15 am

It's just not particularly interesting. It's a font, not a logo. Sorry but you can do better.

Leslie Hardin on February 21, 2022 at 10:25 am

I don't NOt like it, but it reminds me of a bicycle parking rack.

Tommy Hetrick on February 21, 2022 at 5:48 am

hahah true

Jamie Flinton on February 20, 2022 at 9:04 pm

actually y'all I take that last comment back. this logo is so awesome in comparison to the last. excited for this change and what mythical is evolving into. peace n love x

Jamie Flinton on February 20, 2022 at 9:01 pm

wait what?! been a mythical beast for years and this new logo is awesome, but not very mythical!? it's very modern and hipster and stylish which I absolutely love and it does fit Rhett and link's updated vibe I guess. just a large change we weren't expecting! hope to hear more of an explanation soon.. love y'all.

Emma Garcia on February 22, 2022 at 6:01 am

super agree. the font is far more interesting and we as mythical beasts we should support them and wish them the best. i have seen horrible comments. things change, moving upwards and onwards an I am proud of them. good luck R&L!

Nicole Hoops on February 20, 2022 at 8:22 pm

really love the new design. as someone who appreciates graphic design and fonts -- I really enjoy the smooth lines of the M! I'm really impressed with them and the eagerness to be bold with their designs and switch it up! 10/10 would recommend

Lauren Hearty on February 20, 2022 at 7:22 pm

interesting. hey wonder if this is just the base idea and they'll use this shape as a creative starting point for designs. like, shirt with this logo designed a mythical snake or something?

just sad my merch will be outdated now :(

Tabitha Wagner on February 20, 2022 at 11:21 am

I support the change. I love the new font personally. But so many people love the Randlr so he should stay at least for the sake of all the MBs who don’t want to see him go.

Anna Baldwin on February 20, 2022 at 4:48 pm

I get the need to rebrand as the company expands to include more than just Rhett and Link. I don't particularly like the new logo but can live with it.

The thing I find most bizarre is the sudden discontinuation of something they know means a lot to Mythical Beasts, and has done for years. Rebranding doesn't have to mean the complete erasure of something people have been crying out for more of. A strange decision to me, especially done in this way.

Guess we'll see what the plan is soon!

Nicole (Bursey) McGuire on February 21, 2022 at 4:14 pm

completely agree

Mary Cullen McVay on February 19, 2022 at 6:57 pm

I do like the randler a little bit more, but still appreciate them for going outside the box for their stuff this year. Lot of people on twitter, discord, and here are pretty upset and I would say to just trust the process

Jade Burrell on February 19, 2022 at 6:07 pm

why are so many people upset? lol whatever it is, it's out of love and excitement from people who've never let us down. Excited for whatever is coming! <3

Amelia Todd on February 20, 2022 at 1:10 am

Meh, this definitely does not scream mythical. It looks like an elephant, a slinky, a play doh roiled shape, or more generic symbol for a plumbing company. Change is typically hard to swallow, but this just seems to have missed the mark that it was striving for. Wish there was more explanation before the change. The Randler is out I the Cockatrice next πŸ˜•

Nicole (Bursey) McGuire on February 21, 2022 at 4:15 pm

Sabrina Hohl on February 19, 2022 at 4:53 pm

Personally, I don't mind the font change given the former one on merch was just kinda general, but to replace the randler logo too with JUST a new slightly fonted Mythical logo? Kinda boring, I mean not unless it's now the cockatrice that'll represent "us" and mythicality, but just a word logo and a new slogan feels very disconnected from the fans and more for any general audience. I guess that's the point though...

Scott T Walker on February 19, 2022 at 3:56 pm

Meh, it is what it is. Change is inevitable. I mean, it's an M as in Mythical. Very future is now vibe.

Amanda Marie Porter on February 19, 2022 at 3:18 pm

Extremely disheartening to see this become a reality. What was once a thriving touching tribute to the Kommunity has now been replaced by a β€œglorious” corporate logo with absolutely no character.

Nicole (Bursey) McGuire on February 21, 2022 at 4:17 pm

^^^^ πŸ‘†

Jessica Mueller on February 19, 2022 at 2:37 pm

Wish we would've gotten some kind of thought behind this change, something like 'here's what this means to us' instead of 'surprise! we changed our branding on a Friday night and no one will be around to comment for a whole holiday weekend lol' followed by and email saying 'oh, and all the randler merch is discontinued too k bye.'
The Randler has always been a symbol of R&L, but also of the mythical beasts and the entire fandom at large. I would think you would want to at least poll the fandom before such a big change. But to unceremoniously chop it out of the logo without so much as a word about it feels like a rejection. πŸ˜” And then to immediately discontinue all the merch with still no explanation? Double ouch. πŸ˜₯
I very much hope this is addressed next week. Love you guys. *randler heart hands* (which btw, would be a brilliant t-shirt design that I would 100% buy)

Nicole (Bursey) McGuire on February 21, 2022 at 4:19 pm

you've worded this straight out of my brain

Rachel Daniels on February 19, 2022 at 2:30 pm

Atlas Trimble on February 19, 2022 at 3:58 pm

it just seems so impersonal and like...a big corporation. it's like it was designed for *everyone* not the mythical beasts, if that makes sense. It's so streamlined and that's never been my style, but I'll love GMM regardless.

Phillip O'Brien on February 19, 2022 at 2:14 pm

I'm excited to see the rest of it!

Eric Sabbagh on February 19, 2022 at 1:32 pm

I know Rhett and Link can get frustrated when mythical beasts don't like change, and I get it. they want to try new things, some which may be great but are different. this though...just not a good logo. It isn't memorable at all, and doesn't feel like the company(from the outside prespective). definitely could be supermarket logo!

Hopefully it works out well though!

Brandis Nupp on February 19, 2022 at 5:18 pm

I completely agree, I'll always love and support the mythical crew but I just couldn't see this in any merch, it's forgettable, and seems very out of place. if I'm being honest, I wouldn't buy any merch with that font/logo on it. not saying others won't, I hope this works out for them but I personally won't be buying anything with this font on it.

Beverley Smith on February 19, 2022 at 12:59 pm

Completely support creativity and change, I understand it's important to keep things fresh but if I was wearing something with just this on, it could be anything really, it doesn't smack of Mythicallity. I'd be very reluctant to buy if it was this alone, it would have to have a lot more design incorporated into it. It does feel very corporate and I understand that's what Mythical is now but it just feels really nondescript if I'm being honest. Maybe it will grow on me in time but idk 😐

Brandis Nupp on February 19, 2022 at 5:20 pm

couldn't have said it any better myself!

Kimberly Jones on February 19, 2022 at 10:32 am

I mean this respectfully and with kindness. It's just not very Mythical. It's an okay logo but I'm pretty disappointed to see they're discontinuing the Randler. (saw via Twitter so apologies if this is misinformation)

Rachel Szczesny on February 19, 2022 at 1:15 pm

I saw on the new Twitter banner on mythical page this is the M in mythical now

Heather G. Kreager on February 18, 2022 at 10:38 pm

To me it just dose not look right.

Madison Christian on February 19, 2022 at 4:20 am

oh good more character erasure by the modern corporate aesthetic

Adam Temple on February 18, 2022 at 7:36 pm

The symbol isn't bad, however, and I mean no offense but it's no replacement for the Randler.

StormCrow on February 18, 2022 at 6:21 pm

I have this logo/symbol on a Pipe (smoking) I have

Stephanie Mendonca on February 18, 2022 at 5:43 pm

Im trying to be nice, but i just dont like it as the M in Mythical... would work as part of a logo for a musical venture though

Joseph Juntune on February 19, 2022 at 12:51 am

I like it. Not sure what it is, but it's clean and kinda abstract. if they put that on a t-shirt, I'd buy one. I'm too much of an introvert for colors.

Justin Gray on February 18, 2022 at 2:32 pm

I am trying my Mythical Best to think of a way to comment on this... but it's not good. I think it's not memorable; it truly doesn't have any meaning. It's a piece of the intestinal tract. This logo is the opposite of mythical. Where are the flames? the roosters? the beasts? These are tubes. These tubes ain't it.

Wesley Wilburn on February 18, 2022 at 3:59 pm

wow! mythical is buying a racetrack?

Jennifer Souza on February 18, 2022 at 2:26 am

looks like the plumbing under my sink.

Christina Briden on February 18, 2022 at 12:16 am

New Mythical Society logo?

Caleb Hartsfield on February 17, 2022 at 4:16 pm

I think this represents the silhouettes of Rhett & Link...but reversed

Krysti on February 17, 2022 at 10:15 pm

My first thought was that Rhett and Link are switching places to make Link and Rhett but.. I'm sure it'll be something more clever πŸ˜†

Sabine Andersen on February 17, 2022 at 12:04 pm

Whaaaaat ..the heck..dunno what's going on buuuut.. i like it

Melissa Anthony on February 17, 2022 at 10:22 am

Nathan Moore on February 17, 2022 at 6:10 pm

??? What? it'll probably hit me as soon as I post this but what is it?

i love it! eeee so exciting! love a ✨rebrand✨

Terence Rickard on February 17, 2022 at 2:08 pm

Andrew Nay on February 17, 2022 at 1:34 am

Found a clue. The image file name is NewLogo_MSOC_preview_horizontal-1024x576

Andrew Nay on February 17, 2022 at 1:37 am

and it is most likely an M for Mythical

Bradley Pullin on February 16, 2022 at 10:49 pm

It's rhett and links outline standing side by side 🀣 this would look cool as a logo on a polo shirt tbh

Daniel M on February 16, 2022 at 8:04 pm

Wondering if this is a new logo or partial logo... cannot wait to see what it is!

MythicalAda (Ada Peters) on February 17, 2022 at 3:41 am

Maybe new merch...maybe syke??
