I'm still so proud of that gong. I'm so happy you guys still love it to this day

William Whipkey on June 20, 2019 at 6:36 pm

Link says: Rhett we need a table in between the chairs here, ice cold refreshments. Belgian chocolates, snacks. Chips and spicy cheddar sauce, direct-tv. Needs to be more comfortable, big jakes platinum hamburgers.

(Always Curious) Semper Curiosus :: Aeternum Mythicon (Forever Mythical)

Jennifer Marlowe on July 1, 2019 at 8:26 pm

This is a great idea! Keeping a positive vibe and using DIFFERENT words is our household vote. =D

Joseph Seward on June 19, 2019 at 4:56 pm

Just saw that Kimberly McKeown made this same suggestion 8 days ago - Right on, KPuff! Mythical Minds. I also support the 'Semper' on both sides for easier pronunciation.
Semper Curiosus :: Semper Mythicon for that Valar Morghulis vibe. Never Boring is .. boring; and our response shouldn't be a negative term (or a 'double negative').

Samantha Schultz on June 18, 2019 at 5:26 pm

Remember to BYMB 💞

Christina LeBlanc on June 18, 2019 at 1:35 pm

Always curious Never alone

Ashley Herbel on June 19, 2019 at 1:16 am

I like it

Melissa AB Graetz on June 18, 2019 at 11:14 am

Guys . . . your loft is a mess . . .

Alicia Whidden on June 18, 2019 at 6:35 am

Amazing Gong and love how how close the mythical society is getting. also can we please have a gif of the reaction of Link to Rhett hitting the gong at the end of this vlog?

Courtney Havard on June 17, 2019 at 2:18 am

I hope we get a poll to vote on our favorite greeting! honestly really liked Rhett’s idea of non normalis.

Or never ordinary - non ordinarious

Catherine Abel on June 16, 2019 at 6:22 pm

I’m sure someone has already said this but the response to “semper curiosus” could be “never boring”. Which according to Google Translate is “numquam taediosum”. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Emily Duby on June 16, 2019 at 6:38 am

The quarterly items are the main reason I joined the society! To me the limited edition exclusive collectible nature of that was worth the price alone. Although honestly I would have supported you guys through a format like this for pretty much nothing in return because you have already done so much for me with the content you bring. I held off on subscribing to so many other creators saving my $ in case you ever launched anything like this and I'm glad I did!

Emily Duby on June 16, 2019 at 5:46 am

Amazing gong! I love how the society brings such a closer community of mythical beasts with stuff like creating that!

Alison Belter on June 15, 2019 at 9:44 pm

Semper Curiosos = Always Curious
Non Timere = Never Afraid

Ashley Herbel on June 19, 2019 at 1:17 am

Yes!

Cory Casburn on June 15, 2019 at 12:46 pm

Familiaris Mythicum, which means: Belonging to the House of Mythical. Love to all, and Semper Curiosus! <3

Jason Micheal Norris on June 14, 2019 at 1:03 pm

numquam stabilis means never static

Melissa Pratt on June 14, 2019 at 9:07 am

semper curiosus, numquam satis(noom-kwom sa-tis) always curios, never enough, but i also like never alone, numquam solus

Melissa Pratt on June 14, 2019 at 8:52 am

semper curiosus, numquam satis(noom-kwom sa-tis) always curios, never alone, but i also like never alone, numquam solus

Melissa Pratt on June 14, 2019 at 8:54 am

i ment numquam satis means never enough

Deondra Hendricks on June 13, 2019 at 3:52 pm

I think it should start with Semper as well. Lol Rhett I know you said you feel "strongly" about the response starting with Non, but personally I feel like if it started with Semper, it would roll off the tongue better! 🙂♥️

Connor Robertson on June 13, 2019 at 3:36 pm

Speaking of pins, I still haven't recieved my patch and pin from signing up for the 2nd degree. does anyone know the status of those? Thank you!!

JODY TAYLOR on June 15, 2019 at 8:06 am

I had the same issue. I scrolled to the bottom of this page and selected contact. From there is submitted a request to ask about my pin. They answered within a business day with instructions on how to get the pin. Hope it works out!!

Timothy Rusinko on June 13, 2019 at 10:32 am

let me see that gong gong gong gong gong

Molly Fowler on June 13, 2019 at 7:45 am

I'm really hoping for "numquam odiosis" (never boring) or "semper singularis" (always unique).

Katrina Conrad on June 12, 2019 at 7:54 pm

R.I.P in pieces headphone user's

Joy Steinmiller on June 15, 2019 at 5:23 pm

What? I can't hear you? 🤪

Casey Adams on June 13, 2019 at 6:43 am

Semper “unique” whatever the Latin for that is!

Like a Valar type response, would be cool to still start with semper!

Casey Adams on June 13, 2019 at 6:42 am

Semper “unique” whatever the Latin for that is!

Like a Valor type response, would be cool to still start with semper!

Daniel Cook on June 13, 2019 at 7:38 am

Link's answer to the favorite time of the day was so wholesome!!! His favorite tome of the day is when he gets to see his best friend 😂💙💙💙

Lauressa Smerdel on June 12, 2019 at 6:01 pm

I like both of these:
"never ordinary"
"forever mythical"

Christina Hendrix on June 12, 2019 at 5:58 pm

Never Ordinary!

Matthew Wheeler on June 12, 2019 at 1:54 pm

Never Awaken?

Sarah Schoutens on June 12, 2019 at 7:40 am

We need a poll and to vote on what the reply to the greeting would be. I think that would be the best way to decide.

Also, I can't wait to meet you guys!

Shawn Bowie on June 12, 2019 at 5:06 am

I thought of some of these and got distrac.... cinnamon toothpicks sure are good.
Anyway, the call and response reminds me of Easter in some circles sounding like a secret greeting, like look over your shoulder looking for Roman soldiers.
“He has risen.”
*looks both ways* “He has risen indeed.”
Shake hands and conduct business.

Never ordinary- neque vulgaris
Never average- non mediocris
Never common- neque communis
Never tasteless- non indipidia
Never deluded- non deludi
Eternally creative- partum aeternum
Eternally mythical- equae aeternum
Still guud!- adhuc bonum!
Mythical best- equae maxime

Some folks thought of the same ones before I posted. Great minds think alike, or at least mythical beasts think alike.

JODY TAYLOR on June 15, 2019 at 8:08 am

Equae Maxime, I like that I hope it's a vote option.

Shawn Bowie on June 12, 2019 at 6:34 am

It’s non insipidia. My mistake.

Frida Klüver on June 12, 2019 at 6:23 am

Great ideas!

Gotta say I LOVE the sound of/ring to Semper Curiosus - Equae Aeternum,
but the idea of saying Always Curious - Never Ordinary, is also pretty cool!

Allie Moore on June 12, 2019 at 12:25 am

I love the never alone idea, that’s what I first thought of too!

Spencer Higgins on June 12, 2019 at 12:06 am

Hang a gong, Get it on, Hang a gong!🎶

Breanna M McKamey on June 11, 2019 at 9:49 pm

Rhett, don't let Link make fun of your dad shoes, he's just jealous. 😂

Jackson Brandonisio on June 11, 2019 at 9:48 pm

I think

“Always Curious, Never Lost”
would be good as with curiosity you always have a place in the world and can never be seen as lost but always searching and wanting to learn and discover more

Ashley Herbel on June 19, 2019 at 1:20 am

This is great!

Joy Steinmiller on June 15, 2019 at 5:21 pm

That would be cool, because "Not All Who Wander Are Lost".

Deondra Hendricks on June 13, 2019 at 3:53 pm

Good one!

Dalton Tinsley on June 13, 2019 at 10:59 pm

Eternally mythical sounds great!

Hailleeann Clayton on June 12, 2019 at 8:07 pm

I love this one so much

Emily Olsen on June 11, 2019 at 8:09 pm

My vote: Never ordinary.

Rachel Anne Droke on June 11, 2019 at 8:02 pm

They are having so much fun with the gong 😂
I can not wait for Rhett to play all the gongs at the same time 😂
Great vlog thank you!
Hi Jen!

Catherine Hutchison on June 11, 2019 at 6:45 pm

You ganging and singing into the gong totally freaked out my cat haha.

Catherine Hutchison on June 11, 2019 at 6:46 pm

I mean gonging

Michelle Cobb on June 11, 2019 at 5:56 pm

Semper curiosis. Tota nocte.
Always curious. All night long.

Joy Steinmiller on June 15, 2019 at 5:27 pm

I like "Semper Curiosus" "Semper Singularis", but I've seen a few terrific suggestions.

Michelle Cobb on June 11, 2019 at 5:37 pm

Can I suggest the whole hug/shake hands thing be explored further in an Ear Biscuit? Maybe I misunderstood, but were you guys saying that upon your very first meeting of someone, you would hug them? Female or not, that's not southern. That sounds like y'all been in CA/LA/the entertainment industry too long. If we were meeting for the first time (and I didn't know who you were) and you tried to hug me, what would probably happen is that my hand that was coming up to shake yours would continue up until it pushed you rather firmly in the chest to stop you. I would then feel weirded out, uncomfortable, embarrassed, and then angry for feeling embarrassed because you were the one who didn't know polite etiquette. And if this happened in a business setting? Straight to the HR department with you. I mean, if you're meeting someone for the very first time, no touchy. Right? Is that not a common stance? I've never been introduced to someone who immediately tried to hug me. At the end of the first meeting I've had people do it (and I hate it), but never right out of the gate.

Breanna M McKamey on June 11, 2019 at 10:01 pm

I really don't think that's what they were saying. I know fans who have met them at meet & greets have said they're both pretty good at gauging whether or not they're comfortable with hugs, and from the context I feel like it was pretty obvious they were talking about personal relationships, not professional ones. I felt like what they were saying was more about the double standard of what sort of physical content is considered socially acceptable with male friends/acquaintances vs female friends/acquaintances. I don't think they were implying in any way they would push someone into any kind of physical contact they aren't comfortable with.

Michelle Cobb on June 12, 2019 at 4:02 pm

I wasn't suggesting that. And I didn't think their conversation had anything to do with fans. I assumed they were talking about being introduced to a new person by a mutual friend or acquaintance, and I still feel even in that situation it would be weird for anyone to hug anyone regardless of sex upon the very first meeting. I'm curious if that's not the case for other people. It wasn't accusatory; just a request that they dive deeper into it on an Ear Biscuit because their description didn't sound universal to me.

StormCrow on June 11, 2019 at 5:29 pm

Bang a Gong, Then I'm gone.
T-Rex

Taylor F on June 11, 2019 at 4:05 pm

First off, thank you for another wonderful vlog! I love the idea of a response to Semper Curiosus. My idea is “never ordinary” - whatever that is in Latin.

I have always thought what Link said about a man and a woman shaking hands was the opposite - a woman should wait for a man to extend his hand first. 🤷‍♀️ I’m not saying he’s wrong. I just thought it was interesting.

Keep on BYMB! 🤗

Alexus Bender on June 15, 2019 at 9:48 am

Holy crap!! Thank you so much! I’m a little late to watching this vlog, but I just saw the thumbnail for the vlog in my society newsletter and I freaked out! I can’t wait to see you guys in Indianapolis in just 11 days! 😁

Rachael Sheets on June 11, 2019 at 6:02 pm

I really like the Never Ordinary idea!

Michelle Bushnell on June 11, 2019 at 3:07 pm

Thanks Link for reading my letter, and thank you both so much for saying you remember me! This vlog truly made my day :D
In response to semper curiosis I like something like numquam solus (never alone) or umquam gravis (never serious)

Rachel Anne Droke on June 11, 2019 at 8:03 pm

I like your ideas

Amy LeMoine on June 11, 2019 at 3:03 pm

Some ideas:
Non medius = not incurious
Non mediocris = not mediocre/common/general
Non communis = not common

Or sempur partum = always creative
Sempur lasciva = always playful

Ripley Morgan on June 11, 2019 at 3:33 pm

I like Non Communis.^^^

"Not Common" covers a lot of pitches that are boiling down to not ordinary, as well as addressing the phenomenon I believe the majority of us have experienced - that Mythical Beasts are rare (uncommon) in the wild . . . Which is part of what's so exciting about the society. We're finally meeting each other.

It also has a smooth ring to it. :)

Caitlin Jackson on June 11, 2019 at 2:36 pm

I like never ordinary!
Also, I love how Link was obviously saying "smella that" on purpose since being called out on Smosh a month ago.

Cliff Threadgold on June 11, 2019 at 1:58 pm

Semper curiosis, non dubium (Always curious, never dubious)

Cliff Threadgold on June 11, 2019 at 2:10 pm

correction... the translation is (Always curious, not dubious)

Caz Pindsvin on June 11, 2019 at 12:27 pm

I love the idea of a response! How about, nunquam crudelis? Never cruel. Since mythicality also embodies friendship and kindness <3

Dec on June 11, 2019 at 12:05 pm

How about "Always Curious, Never Boring"?

Jessica Mueller on June 11, 2019 at 12:04 pm

Always curious, always mythical.

I mean, that's gotta be it, right?

Halle Sklivas on June 11, 2019 at 12:04 pm

I really like never satisfied for the reply :)

Jennifer on June 11, 2019 at 2:34 pm

Me too

Violet Attraczy on June 11, 2019 at 11:45 am

I wasn't with them. I didn't even knew that until the vlog.
What a cool gong. Link tell Jade we miss her.

Rhett opening a striping club?

Link can smell voice. He is so special.

Your hair looks fine guys. I am always curious. Food for fat 💚 i will keep comment non stop on your videos. SORRY NO SORRY.

Always curious never stop learning.

Knowledge is power. There are no limix.

Sarah Hohler on June 11, 2019 at 11:37 am

semper curiosus - numquam odiosis (never boring)

Molly Fowler on June 11, 2019 at 12:44 pm

I agree with this one! I very much prefer "numquam" or "nunquam" to "non", and this one rings nicely.

Alanna M Boas on June 11, 2019 at 12:29 pm

Yes, this!

Heather L Hogan on June 11, 2019 at 11:28 am

How about Non Ordinarius?

JoHana Anderson on June 11, 2019 at 11:27 am

Loved this!

Cliff Threadgold on June 11, 2019 at 11:23 am

Hey guys... How about this? Sepmper Curiosis. Non Solum. Which is 'always curious. not alone." This would be a great way to communicate that we are all curious and together! BTW if the phrase was "Never Alone" it would translate to 'Numquam Solus." Which doesn't come out as smoothly as "Non Solum."

StormCrow on June 11, 2019 at 5:30 pm

Non Solum is easy to pronounce.

Annie Lefebvre on June 11, 2019 at 3:21 pm

I really like Non Solum! As long as we have each others, we are not alone!!

Casey Lynn on June 11, 2019 at 11:22 am

That gong tho! I think my ears might not ever stop ringing. Semper Curiosus my friends.

Kimberly McKeown on June 11, 2019 at 11:17 am

so for the sempur curiosus statement, what about a response of aeternum mythicon (forever mythical) -Kpuff

April Woods on June 11, 2019 at 6:35 pm

I love it! I think Rhett needs to back down on his 'has to be never' stance, and let this one at least be considered!

Heather Atkinson on June 11, 2019 at 5:03 pm

Checked out how to pronounce aeternum (there are a few videos on YouTube) and it has a nice ring to it! They flow nicely together.

Stephanie Cagle on June 11, 2019 at 1:34 pm

Me three! I like this one best so far.

Shell on June 11, 2019 at 12:46 pm

love this idea!

Shell on June 11, 2019 at 1:52 pm

.

Janiell Taylor on June 11, 2019 at 12:19 pm

i love this one gets my vote.

Janiell Taylor on June 11, 2019 at 12:18 pm

i love this one. by far my fav.

Haley Williams on June 11, 2019 at 11:46 am

I checked a few translators online and they say this is actually reads 'mythical forever' when translated BUT that still works lol There's a few good ones but this has been my favorite I've seen suggested! :)

Denise C Pavek on June 11, 2019 at 11:29 am

Love this!!!

Casey Lynn on June 11, 2019 at 11:24 am

I love this. Although i don’t think i would ever be able to say it. Would Semer Mythicon work? I don’t know anything about Latin.

Kimberly McKeown on June 11, 2019 at 1:45 pm

I think that could work too! Aeternum would be kind hard to say but it could also be fun to try it XD Otherwise it would be "Always curius, Always mythical." "Sempur curiosus, Sempur mythicon"

Marsha G. on June 11, 2019 at 3:46 pm

I like this!

Julie Vincent on June 11, 2019 at 11:13 am

What about 'never alone' (numquam solus) in response to Semper curiosus - it's true and you are never alone where the society and Rhett and Link are concerned.

Casey Lynn on June 11, 2019 at 11:25 am

Oh this is a good one too! I think i could pronounce this one!

GingerSnaps on June 11, 2019 at 11:12 am

neque vulgares
(Never ordinary)

Jai on June 11, 2019 at 10:58 am

I'm so glad you guys got to enjoy the gong and that I got to be a part of something so special. Link, you mispronounced my name but I forgive you.

Janiell Taylor on June 11, 2019 at 10:57 am

YAY I am so glad you guys loved the gong!!!!!! It was so hard keeping it secret. 😁😎 Thank you again Shell and Wolf for setting it up and spear heading the project. RandL I am so excited to meet you in 11 days. I loved this months vlog y'all are so adorable. Never stop being you. semper curiosus.

Jodie and zach gillaspie on June 11, 2019 at 10:39 am

Semper curiosus, never furious.
Semper curiosus, never serious.
We liked the idea of these! Thanks for an awesome video. Keep up the amazing work.

Janiell Taylor on June 11, 2019 at 10:59 am

oooo i like never serious. kind of a shout out to the boys and all they goofy antics.
